English for Employees

New language programme supports workers
In April, 2009, ESOL Home Tutors is beginning a new programme to support ESOL learners throughout New Zealand.
English for Employees is a new, part-time, Tertiary Education Commission-funded programme for people wanting to improve their language, literacy and numeracy for the workplace.
This programme is free to adults who have Permanent Residence and are working either part-time, full-time, casually/seasonally or are self-employed.
Class times will be flexible to suit learners - usually 2.5 hours per week in one or two sessions. Content will meet individual needs and learning goals. Learning will be in small groups, or one-to-one in some cases.
Teachers are qualified ESOL tutors with training in workplace language and literacy.
The programme starts from 27 April 2009, (beginning of school term two). Enrolments and assessment can be carried out at any time.
