Sharing a commitment to learn

![]() | ESOL Home Tutors held a training programme for thirteen of the association's non-English speaking background committee members. People from a wide range of countries including Egypt, Russia, Korea and Chile attended the weekend training programme at Capital House in late July. The training covered the association's structure, mission and philosophy, the roles of governance and management, the language of committees and finance. Participants commented that the training helped them to understand their role in on the scheme committee. Attendees said that the training would enable them to become more involved and contribute more confidently to the decision making made by their local ESOL committee. They enjoyed the opportunity to build their understanding of the committee process in New Zealand and to share and learn from each other. | ![]() |
