Board appoints new Chief Executive Officer

The National Association of ESOL Home Tutor Schemes' board is delighted to announce the appointment of their new Chief Executive Officer, Claire Szabo.

Claire took up the position at the association's national office in Wellington on 6 June.

Claire has lived and worked in various European countries including Hungary where she was based for five years, and learned to speak Hungarian fluently while teaching ESOL and working as an education management consultant. Her consultancy projects included advising the European Union on regional education matters. She holds a postgraduate diploma in management in education.

Claire moves from her former position as Project and Development Coordinator at the national office. In this role she was actively involved in addressing issues affecting the association.
She describes herself as a 'big picture person'. She has a particular interest in ensuring the voices of refugees and migrants are heard in order to shape our services and inform government and other agencies of relevant issues. She is also currently a member of the ACE Aotearoa executive board.
