Certificate in ESOL Home Tutoring
Would you like to become a volunteer ESOL home tutor on the North Shore?
If so, please phone the centre on 489 2078, or complete the volunteer application form.
ESOL home tutor training - the course covers a number of learning areas including:
- Cross-cultural awareness - understanding other cultures and relating to people from different backgrounds.
- Current theories and techniques of language teaching.
- Adults as language learners.
- Identifying learner needs and setting learner goals.
- Planning tutoring sessions, using different approaches and use of resource materials.
The Certificate in ESOL Home Tutoring courses are run four times a year.
