(Association Philosophy)  
  Purpose of the Association
To provide English language skills and social support for the effective resettlement of adult refugees and migrants in Aotearoa New Zealand.

 

Key strategic outcome 2005-09
A sustainable organisation providing innovative ESOL services for settlement.
             
Key result 1
ESOL Home Tutors meets learner needs through innovative English language services.

ESOL Home Tutors identifies and responds to emerging migrant community needs.

ESOL Home Tutors actively contributes to intercultural awareness and social inclusion.

Strategy 1
Further develop English programmes for specific subjects, levels and industries. Diversify modes of delivery using paid teachers, volunteers and technology.
 

Strategy 2
Institute processes to identify and address, or advocate for, emerging immigrant community needs. Explore the organisation's contribution to addressing employment related issues for immigrants.

  Strategy 3
Communicate, in collaboration with sector agencies, messages to the public and government that promote intercultural awareness and social inclusion. Explore a role as an intercultural awareness training provider.
  Strategy 4

Support Auckland schemes' aspirations to become a regional sector leader.
b. Work with Auckland-based and all other schemes to explore a new identity and name to reflect our position in the future.
c. Create internal communication practices that foster the Association's collective strength through this period of significant change.
d. Explore a medium to long-term investment strategy that furthers the organisation's strategic objectives.
